My work examines the shifting dynamics of American identity amidst my generation's environmental, sociopolitical, and cultural changes. I document diverse subjects ranging from protests and presidential rallies to the US Border Patrol; prisons in Sacramento and Carson City; Mustang roundups in California and Nevada; the reduction of Bear’s Ears and public lands in Utah; major California wildfires; and the impact of drought across the Sierras. In addition to documentary photography, I recently completed my Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Policy, & Management at UC Berkeley. I also studied photography at City College of San Francisco and continue to work with the photographer Ken Light. As Ken’s assistant, I make prints in the darkroom and do other tasks such as editing, archiving, and supporting events. I’ve been fortunate to work closely with and learn from many incredible young photojournalists at UC Berkeley and CCSF.
